Owner and Master James Young. – From 12th July 1844 for two weeks, she experienced a heavy gale. – On 25th July 1844 she sailed into a field of ice in the South Atlantic, striking hard several times. – On 9th August 1844, she arrived in Stanley but was condemned by Officers of H.M.S. PHILOMEL following a survey undertaken at the Owner/Captain’s request. – On 14th April 1845, her cargo was taken away to Valparaiso on the CREOLE. — The MAUNEY was repaired however, as she made several trips from the Falklands to Rio de Janeiro. – On 12th January 1847, MAUNEY finally left Stanley. – On 8th December 1869 she was broken up after 42 years of service.
