BRODICK was one of four port auxiliary vessels that were brought to the Falklands by Britain’s Ministry of Defence to be used as support ships for the military and civilian work needed to rebuild the Islands infrastructure after the 1982 Falklands War. When she was no longer required, BRODICK was laid up at the Camber Dock in Stanley Harbour. Local folklore says that she was taken out of Stanley by the military and sunk somewhere off the islands, but no official record of this has so far been found.
