Our website is part of a mission to reveal the rich and varied maritime history of the Falkland Islands and surrounding seas to the world. It enables us to reach out to anyone who wants to know more about the ships, sailors, explorers and wildlife that have either made the islands their home or passed through at some point. In addition to special features about the maritime heritage of these islands, we will be breaking news of forthcoming Trust activities and events, and also marking maritime anniversaries of note. We will also be bringing you biographies and stories about the famous people who have over the years become part of Falklands maritime folklore – such as Charles Darwin and Sir Ernest Shackleton.
